Change can steal into our lives in the blink of an eye, or slowly and subtly over time, leaving us struggling for answers, and unable to find our balance. Significant loss or changes in family, career, or health can require some major readjustment of priorities, and sometimes we need help working through the best approach to take.
Overwhelming feelings of grief, helplessness, and even rage can be emotionally, physically, and spiritually distressing – not feeling like ourselves. Depression, anxiety, mood changes, substance abuse, anger outbursts, and other uncharacteristic responses can result. If you are feeling overwhelmed—because of these or other factors— we will work together to come to a place of healing.
Acute Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Unresolved grief or PTSD and trauma can create recurring disturbing memories of emotionally charged issues causing acute symptoms such as anxiety and fear, hopelessness, irritability, confusion, uncharacteristic outbursts of anger or difficulty concentrating. If any of these issues are interfering with your day to day life, it may be time to consider asking for help.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy may be an option to explore. EMDR has been shown to be especially effective in treating trauma and PTSD. My training in EMDR and complex trauma, as well as my personal experience with EMDR, has made me a strong advocate for the therapy. But this is only one healing option…there are more.
Working together we will explore how your life experiences and survival instincts have equipped you in ways that you may not even be aware of. Take this opportunity to find an increased joy and wholeness to your life mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I look forward to working with you!
